When selecting doormats for public buildings, it is crucial to acknowledge that their design and functionality must significantly differ from those intended for residential use. The primary considerations include their effectiveness in retaining high levels of dirt and moisture, ease of maintenance, and their ability to provide a safe, secure surface that minimises the risks associated with tripping or slipping. Public facilities experience diverse foot traffic, and the demands placed on doormats in these environments are considerably greater.

Versions of interior aluminium doormats

Our doormats can have different types of inserts that have their specific features. We offer three basic versions of cleaning systems:

  1. Drying doormats(types T, ST): In these mats we use drying, dust-absorbing inserts made of polypropylene or polyamide. This kind of insert is absorbent, resistant to squeezing, abrasion and putrefaction. Choosing them provides a dry floor at the entrance of a building.

T - drying textile insert (polypropylene)

ST - scraper textile - drying & cleaning textile insert (polyamide)

  1. Drying & cleaning doormats(RT, RST, BT, BST, KT, MBK, KST, MBST, ScT, SST): Those doormats have drying and cleaning inserts put alternately (textile and rubber or brush ones). The textile absorbs water and rubber/brush removes dirt from shoes. You can also choose additional cleaning elements like aluminium comb (K) or minibrush (MB). This type of doormat is the most universal one - perfect for the second part of the cleaning zone, for instance in the vestibules.
  2. Cleaning doormats(types R, B, MB, K, S and their variants) - cleaning doormatsremove dirt from shoes with rubber and brush inserts. You can also choose additional cleaning elements like aluminium comb (K) or minibrush (MB). Their main advantage is resistance to atmospheric factors and mechanical damages. Those doormats provide the best anti - slipping protection in R13 category.

R - rubber EPDM or vinyl

B - polyamide brush PA 6 or PA 6.6

S - scraper - cleaning structure similar to brush (polypropylene)

Why should you choose an aluminium doormat?

Aluminium doormats work better than regular mats because they last much longer and can withstand heavy use. While a normal rubber or fabric mat needs replacing every two years, an aluminium mat lasts 10 years or more.

Most busy buildings need strong entrance mats that will not wear out in a year or two. Shopping centers, supermarkets, factories, hospitals, hotels and schools get hundreds or thousands of visitors in a day. In addition, there are also heavy trolleys and pushchairs passing through the door. The mats need to handle this constant traffic. For less frequented areas, you might consider home & garden doormats.

How do aluminium doormats work?

The aluminium frames hold cleaning materials: brushes or rubber strips. When someone walks across the mat, they scrape dirt from their shoes. The spaces between the frames collect it. This trapped dirt then falls through gaps in the mat into a collection area below.

The aluminium frames do not rust or wear down like other materials. They will not bend or break under foot traffic. They keep their shape when shopping trolleys or luggage roll over them. This makes them perfect for busy entrances.

Benefits of the interior doormats EasyMat

To clean the aluminium doormat, simply vacuum it or sweep it clean. When full, empty the collection tray beneath. Use a stiff brush to clean between the frames every few weeks. For easier maintenance, place additional drying and dust-absorbing mats in the lobby.

Watch for leaves and paper getting stuck in the mat. In winter, clear any ice that builds up in the drainage channels. Small stones can also get stuck inside. Remove these to prevent damage to the cleaning strips.

The accessory works when it is raining or snowing outside. Dedicated channels drain away any excess water. They stop puddles from forming.

The interior doormats EasyMat made from aluminium reduce the frequency of cleaning inside the building. They last longer than other mats. Their surface provides a good grip when wet. It will prevent slips. As the aluminium frame sits on the floor level, there is no risk of tripping. Wheelchairs and pushchairs roll over smooth edges easily.

The aluminium mat is tough. People can walk over it day and night. When it gets dirty, you can clean them with strong cleaning products. It works well outdoors in summer and winter. Rain, snow, or sun will not damage them.

How do you install an aluminium doormat?

The interior doormats EasyMat work best when installed in a recessed area in the floor. They should level with the surrounding surface. However, they can also be installed on top of existing flooring using special ramps around the edges. The mats need a flat surface underneath and some space for drainage. This is particularly important if they are used outdoors.

Aluminium mats work best when they are big enough for people to take at least 3–4 steps across them. This gives time to remove most dirt from shoes. For busy entrances, you might want to place them in a series.

Think about where you will place the mat before buying it. Busy main entrances need wider mats than side doors. Generally, it is recommended to get a mat wide enough for two people to walk side by side.
